Further information

Hardwood oak gate posts are very strong and dense, making them ideal for supporting metal or timber gates. These posts are naturally durable and do not require any kind of treatment. Their life expectancy is 20+ years, even when exposed to moisture or if in constant contact with the ground.

These oak gate posts will not be perfect, they will contain splits, cracks and waney edges as is to be expected with any oak product. However, we feel this only adds to their natural, rustic appeal, adding an organic look and feel to any project.

It is possible to cut the oak gate posts using a circular saw, chainsaw or a handsaw - please bear in mind that any newly exposed cut surfaces will need treating with a wood preservative.
