Further information

Larger trees, standards and trees planted in exposed or windy positions put more strain on their support, and the cross bar is the part that carries the load between the stakes. The 38mm thick Treated Cross Bar Support gives you a sturdier bar for those situations, helping the frame stay rigid as the tree moves.

Made from pressure-treated timber for long-lasting outdoor use, it provides a solid fixing surface for tree ties, belting, rubber blocks or cushions. The tree stays held clear of the stakes, protecting the bark from rubbing as the trunk grows.

The thicker 38mm profile is also more resistant to splitting when fixing or hammering, which can be a real advantage on busy planting days.

Commonly used in tree planting, landscaping, gardening, forestry and estate maintenance.

Choosing the right thickness: for smaller trees and standard double-stake systems, the lighter and more economical 25mm cross bar will often do the job.

Natural timber advisory: as a natural product, each bar may have knots, small cracks and slight variations in size. These are normal as timber dries, swells and contracts with changes in moisture and temperature, and aren’t defects. Pieces may occasionally split at weak points such as knots when being fixed or hammered, so we recommend ordering 10 to 20% more than you need to allow for natural variation and installation breakages.
