Suregreen GR14 Heavy Grass Reinforcement Matting allows grassed areas to be used for trafficking and parking for cars or small vans. The mesh protects grassed areas and allows them to be used frequently by vehicles and pedestrians whilst limiting the damaged caused to the grass.
The typical uses of Suregreen GR14 Heavy on grass would be overflow car parks, domestic driveways, verge parking, occasional use access routes for cars and vans and heavy use pedestrian walkways.
Suregreen GR14 Grass Reinforcement Matting works by giving structure and support to existing grass. The matting is pinned down on top of the grass, the grass should then be allowed and encouraged – by regular cutting – to entangle with the matting. When full entanglement is achieved the matting will be at its optimum strength. When the matting has disappeared into the grass and the grass been cut several times the matting is normally ready for use. The GR14 protects the grass root structure by greatly reducing over compaction and rutting allowing the grass to survive and recover.
GR14 Heavy Grass Reinforcement Matting is made to a design that is particularly suited to the task of support and entanglement, and provides superior protection to the grass surface. The plastics used are UV stable, chemically inert and once in place should be working for 15 to 20 years.
Suregreen GR14 Grass Reinforcement Matting works best on flat, even and self-draining soils. Also it should be laid directly onto existing established maintained grass. Please contact our technical team to confirm the site conditions and intended use of the matting would bring the best out of the GR14 matting.
Suregreen GR14 generally does not need planning permission.
Suregreen GR14 is suitable to be used as part of SuDS - the latest government guidelines regarding flood prevention. The matting allows full permeability into the natural water aquafer.
