Features and benefits
- Colour: Muted brown colour.
- Lifespan: Non-toxic UV stabilisation ensures that the vole guard maintains its mechanical strength for at least 6 years. After this initial 6 year period, the structural integrity of the tube starts to fail. The material will then begin to fracture and fall on to the forest floor over an additional period of 2-3 years. It will start to biodegrade as soon as it is in contact with the leaf litter, soil and/or microbes. It has been designed to compost in soil conditions at 20 degrees Celsius. After biodegradation, all that remains is water, biomass and minerals. No micro-plastics or toxic residues.
- Construction: Single walled and rigid wrap design: strong but lightweight construction. The wrap design allows the vole guard to expand with tree growth.
- Browsing Protection: Protection against voles, mice and machinery (strimmers).
