Suregreen supporting Wilderness Foundation UK

At Suregreen, we’re thrilled to support local charities and community projects.

In December 2023, we delivered a donation of assorted timber products to local charity, Wilderness Foundation UK, including: fence posts, hardwood, and softwood sleepers. The charity will be using the donation for various projects including bridges and log circles to help transform their 40 acres of woodland and grassland (located near Chelmsford).

Who are the Wilderness Foundation?

An environmental and mental health charity. Annually, they support over 8,000 young people, providing them with an opportunity to connect with nature, develop essential life skills, and navigate complexities they encounter.

"

Through the Wilderness Foundation education and therapy programmes we help young people and adults reconnect to society and themselves through outdoor facilitation adventures, therapy and mentoring. Our programmes highlight the positive impact of wild nature on personal and social wellbeing. Developing stewardship for nature and wild places is imbued through the teaching of Leave No Trace Ethics alongside volunteering opportunities.

Our mission is to preserve wild places and change lives through outreach programmes that educate, inspire and reconnect people facing a number of challenges in their lives. We create opportunities for those wishing to learn more about their relationship with the natural world and what they can do to protect it. The content of our Wilderness programmes aims to equip and enable people to acquire skills from within themselves to navigate their futures safely and successfully. We are working to keep people healthy and our planet wild!

We're looking forward to maintaining our relationship with the charity to support their mission, as well as getting involved in other community support projects such as: local charities, schools and assisting the council in incentives to refurbish, refresh and provide local amenities. You can find more details of our ongoing community project work through our social media channels and 'news & blogs' section of our website.
