GR14 Grass Car Parking - Ditton Park

Challenge:

Ditton Park is a business park that is undergoing extensive modernisation. The upgrade will ultimately lead to more personnel on-site during the day, and without any catering in close vicinity means food and refreshments would need to be provided on-site at peak times. A solution was needed that would create a space for mobile catering and possibly an event marquee so they can be housed on-site when needed. The hardstanding already in place was being used for staff parking, and due to planning permissions, more hardstanding areas were not allowed to be constructed for hosting a catering area. 

Solution: 

Suregreen's GR14 Grass Protection Matting pocesses the correct attributes to meet the client's requirments.. The area was prepared by replacing the existing topsoil with self-draining sandy loam and then relaying the amenity turf. The GR14 was then cut to size by the Suregreen install team and pinned to the new grass. GR14s green mesh allowed it to blend in with the surrounding grass, offering a more natural and welcoming look to any visitors or staff.

Benefits:

Ditton business park now has resolved their on-site catering issues with a low-cost ground reinforcement. The park can now house heavy catering vehicles on-site outside their office buildings all year round. Suregreen's GR14 met the site's planning requirements whilst also being more cost-effective than hardstanding solutions. No extra drainage was required as the GR14 prepared area is entirely self-draining. The grass will grow into the GR mesh leaving a strong, robust surface for the catering vehicles and queuing pedestrians.
