Further information

Plastic deer netting is an excellent alternative to wire deer fencing, proving easy to handle and erect. Made from a very high tensile BOP plastic, this deer netting has been stretched during the manufacturing process to offer improve strength and resilience - making it ideal for use around larger animals such as deer. The mesh, also known as heavy game netting, is lightweight but also very strong, meaning that it can be used for a wide range of applications both domestic and commercially. Deer fencing is effective when used as a barrier to fallow, roe, red and Muntjac deer, to prevent access to newly planted crops and trees, as well as against livestock damage to newly planted perimeter hedges on farm land.

INSTALLATION NOTES

When installing fencing applications using this mesh, we highly recommend using straining wires to give extra strength to the plastic netting. Straining line wires are available on this website and are used to keep the fencing taut and strong. Straining lines wires are fixed to the netting at the top using hog ring clips and pliers. The 1.8m and 2m meshes may need a 2nd or 3rd line wire as desired.

The netting can be fixed to wooden fencing posts or timber stakes using u-nails or nylon cable ties, but for a long-term fencing solution, we recommend battening the netting as this spreads the strain on individual netting filaments. Battening involves simply fixing the plastic netting between the posts/stakes and another length of treated timber along its length.
