PP50 Porous Paver Grass / Gravel - 50mm Deep
SUREGREEN PP50 is a 50mm deep porous paver that can provide a permeable paving solution to a wide range of trafficking needs. The PP50 paver provides a stable, free draining porous surface that retains gravel in situ. The application might be a gravel car park, an emergency access route or wheel chair / disabled access path. SUREGREEN PP50 plastic paving grid for ground reinforcement has been designed, using carefully selected recycled plastics, to meet the demands and loadings imposed across a wide range of end requirements and site conditions where a permeable paving surface is required.
SUREGREEN PP50 permeable paving / porous plastic pavers can be filled with a grass filled finish or gravel (5mm to 20mm mixed sharp angular aggregate) to give a very stable, hardworking and free draining working surface. The design of SUREGREEN PP50 plastic porous pavers allows excellent interlock with the gravel resisting and negating dynamic and lateral loadings so the gravel and paver remains in situ with little or no maintenance requirements. The gravel finish or grass finish, when installed correctly will provide a hardwearing, robust and permeable free draining surface that would have an expected lifetime of many years.
SUREGREEN PP50 porous plastic paving grids have been designed to meet the demands laid down by local government regarding flood alleviation and SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems), requirements. PP50 permeable pavers provides a porous / permeable pavement gravel surface that allows rainwater / flood water to infiltrate through the paver surface and fill material into the subgrade below. SUREGREEN PP50 can be used as part of a SUDS source control system.
SUREGREEN PP50 permeable pavers are designed to be installed using an appropriate subgrade and construction profile to suit local conditions and traffic loadings / movements. Please refer to our installation and design sheets for guidance and / or contact our technical team for guidance for full information.

Suregreen PP50 grass & gravel pavers for ground reinforcement simply connect together securely. The porous plastic pavers should be constructed onto an excavated and prepared sub-base, a minimum of 100mm thick and up to 475mm depending on the subgrade CBR rating and the regularity and weight of load (475mm thick would be for HGV and Fire Truck access). The stone sub-base should be a permeable / porous reduced fines free draining angular stone with the size region of 10mm to 50mm. A vibrating whacker plate should be used to consolidate this sub-base stone. A layer of geotextile should be laid over the sub-base stone to separate the fine soil/sand root zone (for grass surface) or gravel bedding (for gravel surface). The nonwoven geotextile will prevent fine material penetrating, but will allow water to filter through. A minimum 50mm bedding layer of rootzone soil (sand:compost mixture in the ratio of 60:40 mix) should be placed as the bedding layer for grass or a gravel bedding for a gravel finish. PP50 porous pavers can then be laid level and connected correctly. The grass rootzone or angular gravel fill can then be filled into the pavers. For a grass finish do not overfill the pavers, and seed can be applied and a small top dressing of soil can be applied to aid germination. features and benefits
SUREGREEN PP50 permeable paving grids have been manufactured using specially selected 100% recycled plastics that have the qualities that are required for a strong, long-lasting, stable product suitable for the designed traffic load. These include:-
- UV stabilisation to stop degradation by sunlight.
- Tested to 500T/m², capable of withstanding cars, vans, and occasional trucks and lorries
- Paver profile that allows expansion on warmer days or in direct sunlight to stop lifting.
- Plastic selection to allow use in cold temperatures – some plastic pavers will become fragile when cold.
- Open structure to allow unhindered water permeability = perfect permeable paving surface
- Paver design to maximum support and stability from either a gravel or a grass root structure.
- All plastics used are stable, chemically inert and are not toxic so are suitable for normal soil conditions.
|Square white clip in plastic markers can be used to mark parking spaces in car parks or provide directional information.
geotextile fabric ground anchor plastic pegs
|Suregreen offer rounded mushroom head pegs which are suitable for fixing weed control fabric, landscape geotextile, anti-bird netting, turf and grass reinforcement mesh to the ground.
