PP40 Porous Paver Grass / Gravel - Green
SUREGREEN PP40 green porous pavers are suitable for grass reinforcement or gravel retention applications where a trafficable surface is required including car parking, pathways and fire access lanes.
The colour of the PP40 green porous pavers makes them ideal for use with a grass surface but can also be used where a retained permeable gravel surface is required. Applications include pavements, drives, access roads, car parks, overflow parking, car park bays and cycle paths where a free draining naturally grassed permeable pavement is required.
SUREGREEN PP40 porous paving grid provides over 150 tonnes of support per m². The open cell structure of SUREGREEN PP40 grass pavers allows grass roots to spread from cell to cell, allowing vertical and horizontal passage of water / drainage and the flow of nutrients - this eliminates starving individual cells of water and nurtients which would kill the grass.
Manufactured from 100% recycled HDPE plastic, Green PP40 grass / gravel pavers are supplied in 500x500mm grids (4 plastic paving grids per sqm). The grass pavers cells are 40mm deep, and the paver has the added benefit of a 25mm gound spike which helps resist lateral movement caused by repetitive traffic. PP40 porous pavers can be used as part of a SUDS source control compliant permeable paving solution. When filled with either grass or gravel, PP40 porous pavers stabilise the ground for pedestrains, cars, vans, trucks, lorries, coaches and buses.
PP40 grass & gravel pavers for ground reinforcement simply connect together securely. The porous plastic pavers should be constructed onto an excavated and prepared sub-base, a minimum of 100mm thick and up to 475mm depending on the subgrade CBR rating and the regularity and weight of load (475mm thick would be for HGV and Fire Truck access). The sub-base should be a permeable / porous angular stone with the size region of 10mm to 50mm. A layer of geotextile should be laid over the sub-base stone to separate the fine soil/sand root zone (for grass surface) or gravel bedding (for gravel surface). A minimum 50mm bedding layer of rootzone soil (sand:compost mixture in the ratio of 60:40 mix) should be placed as the bedding layer for grass or a gravel bedding for a gravel finish. For a grass finish do not overfill the pavers, and seed can be applied and a small top dressing of soil can be applied to aid germination.
